The Future of Day of the Gundam
October 2026 Update
Dear Gundam Fans, it’s been a while since our 2026 event and we’d like to begin this update by thanking you all once again for supporting Day of the Gundam. The feedback we’ve received and the experiences you’ve shared online have been wonderful to see and read!
Today the event organiser, Gundam Mad, would like to share an update in relation to future DOTG events:
Day of the Gundam returns in 2028
To provide some insight into the rumours online, Day of the Gundam will return, but in 2028. The aim is to run the event over alternating years so that we can have the time to create and prepare the best event possible for the attendees.
Day of the Gundam does require an awful lot of work and is created by a very small but dedicated team. They take a lot of time, work and preparation and running two in a row with such a small team was quite the challenge, but let us assure you, a challenge we absolutely love!
Looking ahead
A knock-on effect to this, is we have delayed long needed improvements to the Gundam Mad site. We want to continue to provide a great service to our customers online and an incredible event to DOTG attendees. Hopefully the extra time provided by alternating years and our planned improvements will help make the next event the best one yet with even more activities, events, panels and competitions planned.
Speaking of the Gundam Mad site, a planned revamp to hopefully improve mobile browsing and general functionality is already in the works! This coupled with upcoming changes to the site in general will enable us to continue serving the community we so love.
It has been an honour and a privilege to work with and promote the UK Gundam community for the last 20 years and we sincerely hope we’re able to be here in another 20 years to keep the joy, passion and love of Gunpla building burning strong.
Thank you for your support
Thank you all for your wonderful support and we hope to see many of you at DOTG 3 in 2028. Please check out our socials for future updates and we look forward to seeing some of you at local events between now and the next DOTG.
Best Regards,
Gurinder, Lindsey & the wider Gundam Mad Team
